We have some good news and some bad news for this post...
I'll start with the bad: because I was sick, I totally missed the six month anniversary of the launch of The Feminine Genius Podcast! :( It was something that I was looking forward to celebrating and highlighting, but I've been under the weather for quite some time and I totally missed and forgot about it.
But here's the good news: The Feminine Genius Podcast is not going anywhere, and it's all thanks to YOU!
Over the past 6 months, there have been 22 episodes released. I've sat down with over 25 women to hear their stories and share them with you - many of them have been released as an episode, with some to be released in the new year. We've hit over 3,500 listens on Soundcloud alone and another1,200+ on Spotify across 29 countries!
That is AMAZING!
As many may remember, this podcast started off with many conversations between God and I nearly one year ago while I was on mission in Panama. At the time I had no idea what I was going to do with this information and desire. But over the past couple weeks, God reminded me of how I was challenged while on mission to dream big and live magnanimously - that is, to have the virtue of being great of mind and heart. I was called to put my trust in God for a desire and dream that I had.
God reminded me that, at that time, I wanted to start a ministry. I had no idea what that would look like, but that was what I desired to do.
In Panama, I would get these different 'distractions' in prayer about potential podcast things. All of this quickly came to a head in May while I was away in Ottawa, when the Lord very clearly said to me, "This is what I want you to do." The podcast was not a random pipe dream: it was something that was blessed by the Lord as a way to bring Him to others.
And just like that, The Feminine Genius Podcast was born.
There have been a lot of trials over the 6 months, including feelings of inadequacy, not knowing what I was doing, and having to cut back on the frequency of content delivery. I got caught up in reach and statistics when I should have been focussed on the real heart of the project, which was God alone. But there have also been a lot of successes, including consistent humbling, hearing from amazing women across this country, and hearing from you, the listener, on how these conversations have impacted and inspired you.
As 2019 ends and 2020 begins, I am so excited to step into the new year with all of you, to walk with you, and to share more stories of incredible women and saints.
You can listen to and download The Feminine Genius Podcast on Soundcloud, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and Stitcher. You can also follow the podcast @femgeniuspod on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. If you love what you're hearing, I would love it if you shared it with a friend and rated our feed on Apple Podcasts - it helps other people find the show!
Finally, who would you like to hear from in the new year? I'm always brainstorming and reaching out to amazing women, and I would love to feature someone who you are inspired by.
From the very bottom of my heart, thank you so much for being a listener and supporter of The Feminine Genius Podcast. May God bless you during this Christmas season, and we'll talk to you in the new year!
