I realize that this blog post comes out on April 1, AKA April Fool's Day, but I promise you that this is no joke!
First, some updates with the podcast:
Given the current situation with COVID-19, it really has thrown a lot of my plans out the window in my personal life and also with regards to the podcast. However, in an interesting way, it has freed up a lot more time for me to work on it! But given that I normally do a lot of my podcast interviews in person, the need for social distancing really put a wrench in that.
Thankfully, there's technology! So what you'll notice with many of the upcoming episodes is that it's going to sound a little different, and that's because they have been done through a video call. In many ways, this has been a blessing because it allowed for me to connect with women all over the continent. It has been eye-opening and inspiring, and more than that, it's been so humbling to be able to be welcomed into these stories when I only started talking to these women on Instagram not too long ago.
The point is: God makes a way. He opens new doors and broadens our horizons. And I trust that every woman I encounter is someone who needs to be in my life at this moment, and I hope that you will find peace and comfort in these conversations!
The other major update is that the next podcast episode won't come out until the end of April! I will be taking a bit of a break for Holy Week, Easter, and of course, trying to finish school! So please pray for me — the end is near and I am so excited to finally put school behind me and focus on this podcast and ministry.
Now, for the 🎉 FUN STUFF 🎉
Even though the podcast will be on a bit of a break, I would love it if you went back and listened to your favourite episode and let me know who your favourite guest so far is, and why! Be sure to tag @femgeniuspod on social media so that I can see it and share it with listeners as well! If you could also rate our show on iTunes, that would be amazing as it helps other people find the show.

Meg Hunter-Kilmer joins me on The Feminine Genius!
I'm excited to share that the podcast will be back on Monday, April 27 and will feature the one and only Meg Hunter-Kilmer! Meg is someone I've admired for a very long time, and I love her writing and reflections. I had the honour of actually meeting her back in December 2019 at CCO's Rise Up Conference, where she gave a workshop! This was truly divine providence and I am so honoured that I got to spend some one on one time with her. This is an episode you do not want to miss, so stay tuned for this episode wherever you listen to The Feminine Genius!
Have a (virtual) coffee with me!

In this time of social distancing, I decided to take advantage of the technology at my fingertips plus my love for all things caffeinated to start doing something new: virtual coffees! I've done a few so far with different women and I've thorougly enjoyed the conversation all while doing our part to practice social distancing. And just like with podcast interviews, it gives me an opportunity to meet with women that I may not be able to meet in person in my everyday life! So if you want to set up a coffee date, let's do it! I look forward to meeting with you and talking about anything: the podcast, what it's like to be a woman in the Catholic Church, our favourite saints, school, work, pizza, dogs, ducks... you name it!

Thanks to everyone for their support of The Feminine Genius Podcast!
I will write more about this soon, but recently I made a significant decision and shut the door on something that, for many years, I thought I wanted for myself. But throughout this Lent, and especially in the chaos that we find ourselves in with this pandemic, I have really felt the Lord calling me more than ever to pursue this podcast and ministry even more. While a part of me grieves that decision, I also have an overwhelming sense of joy, gratitude, and undeniable peace. I want to say that the Lord really does have a plan for you, and it's a plan that you would have never thought of or thought that you could do. He's calling us to trust in Him and He desires closeness. He extends His hands out to us so that He can pick us up and show us what He has planned for us. As I mentioned in my latest episode on Mary's Fiat, are we ready to give our YES to Him?
Take heart, friends. Know of His goodness, His mercy, and His faithfulness.
As we enter into the holiest week of the year, know of my prayers for you and please also keep me in your prayers. We're in this journey together.
In Christ,
Rachel
